Designing With Web - Part 3: week 1

Groupe Subject : Encourage road trips experiences for students thanks to social networks

Group "92"

Project 1: "Tinder-like" app to organise travel groups

Context

when? where? who? why?

When is the project working? The application offers its service throughout the year, as different schooling systems have different calendars. However, we are aware that the project will attract more users over long vacations like the July-August period for European users.
Where will the project function? For starters, our application will see its activity develop itself in Europe. The project can and should be applicable elsewhere, but it would be easier to first be in a zone like the Schengen one, in which many border-crossing issues are dealt with already.
Who is the main target? Students who are willing to meet new people, discover new places and learn new languages.
Why is this project relevant? Our project answers to problems students may encounter during these types of travels: who are you travelling with? Is it safe to go someplace by yourself? If you’re travelling with some friends of yours, are you really discovering new things, getting out of your comfort zone, and progressing with your language learning? Discover how the platform works (below) to understand its relevance

Target

for whom?

Our application’s aim is to guide a user’s will to form a group of students with who he or she will travel. To sign up, a user must be a registered student, with a student card and student email address. Hereby, we are putting together an international community of students who all crave for travelling and learning new languages. The project could be financed thanks to certain schools which are willing to send its students on these trips. Therefore, the first main target would be students in those financially helping schools. However, it quickly extends towards other students from other systems: the more users there are, the better the app can function
